BEHAVIORAL OBJECTIVES:
Active engaged participants will be able to:
Explain the role of emotion as it impacts cognition and behavior and describe one or more instances in your curriculum where knowledge of and empathy with a student’s emotions might cause you to tweak instruction.
List three or more on-line resources and/or websites and summarize its content and usefulness to students and colleagues.
Design, implement and evaluate at least one new “lesson” in your discipline that reflects “new” learning gained by active participation and specifically addresses the genuine needs of students today in and out of the classroom; and, report on the results to students and colleagues.
Examine assumptions and beliefs regarding the role of transfer from school to daily life; invent two or more strategies designed to increase the likelihood of transfer actually occurring; assess the efficacy of the strategies; and, report on the results to students and colleagues.
